55-NO TO GAMBLING

Gambling can be compared to addiction to greed and may result in loosing soul and dollar both. It can never be recommended and following episode is the roof of it

Once, when Merwan and his friends were playing in their neighborhood lane, a man appeared pushing a cart with a board of nails, over which rings were to be thrown to try one's luck. The boys wanted to play, but Merwan stated that they should not waste their money gambling. But the others argued that they were eager to try their luck. Altogether they had four annas (about 25 cents), and they purchased some rings. Each ring thrown missed until only one remained, intended for Merwan. He tossed the last one and scored, thus recovering their money. Merwan told his companions, "It is only because I played that you got your money back. If any of you had tossed that ring you would have lost."
