RAHURI ASHRAM

RAHURI ASHRAM

Rahuri lies about 30 miles north of Ahmednagar and is a compact country-town on the bank of a tributary of sacred Godavari river. In August 1936, temporary shed for Ashram were erected and a one roomed hut for Baba was built. A dispensary was also opened and catered to the needs of the local people.

Rahuri Ashram was principally for mad people and was the starting point of Baba’s later work with masts. Mohammad was first brought to Rahuri in August 1936

At the end of April 1937, Baba decided for various reasons to move the ashram to Meherabad.
